My Hair is a Reflection of My Soul (Vol. 2) - 2023
The intention of this work is to embrace the true essence of Black hair, its beauty and versatility, and its importance as a whole in shaping identities. The expansion of this project heavily relies on the use of my family history and recontextualizing these archival images into digital collages. This process of deconstructing the history of the relationship between Black culture and hair functions as a representation of how hair has transcended beyond its appearance. My hair is a reflection of my soul.
